FUNAM protested in París against the sending of australian nuclear waste to Argentina. A big banner was displayed in front of the Eiffel Tower. Raúl Montenegro President of FUNAM, asked the Parliament of Argentina “not to approve the nuclear agreement between Argentina and Australia” for being “ illegal” and “dangerous for the Región”. December, 2001. 

Lucas Heights: FUNAM from Argentina denounced at the World Citizen´s Assembly  in Lille (France) that "Australia will send nuclear waste to Argentina infringing his Constitution”. In the Assembly y a big banner said: “ No to australian nuclear waste. Yes to the Constitution of Argentina. The banner will be moved to Paris next week. December, 2001. 

Argentina: 70 NGOS, Coalitions of NGOs and the Deputy Ombudsman of the city of Buenos Aires launched a wide national and international Campaign against the import of Australian radioactive waste. November, 2001. 

Argentina: “The foreign Minister Adalberto Rodríguez Giavarini can be prosecuted for having signed the nuclear agreement between Australia and Argentina. The possibility is open”. Lobby work to deny the approval of the agreement at the Parliament. August, 2001.

The Death Ship: Yesterday FUNAM presented penal charges against the President of CNEA and other public officials demanding that they be investigated for possibly failing to fulfill their duties, as they were responsible for enforcing article 41 of the Constitition which forbids the entrance of radioactive waste into the country, and they failed to do so." Now two other ships with MOX, plutonium-uranium fuel would be next". The need of an international coalition against radioactive shipments. January, 2001.
