Objectives of FUNAM
FUNAM works at the local, national and international and has the following objectives:
To defend the rights of citizens to a sustainable development based on their own organization and moves. FUNAM does not control people, it accompanies them.
To warn, investigate and publish actions, projects and works that could affect or destroy environment and health.
To denounce cases of environmental degradation and environmental corruption to the Justice.
To organize and carry out public campaigns in defense of the environment and the quality of life.
To scientifically investigate matters related to the environment, sustainable development and health.
To educate using all available means: formal and not formal, emphasizing the role of the society as recipient and producer of both information and experiences.
To develop proposals and regulations for the protection of nature and the solution of environmental problems which are vital to the safeguard of human health.
To promote sustainable development and sustainable societies.
To work together with people, grassroots groups, NGOs and international organizations for promoting networking, coalitions and independent work. FUNAM does not have political, religious, racial nor financial objectives.
